Want to bring Silicon Valley technology to every valley in Germany? This is the place to do it, as a member of our founding team, the first to take the vision of digital rail operations and put it onto the track.
As a Software & Solution Architect for Real-Time Systems, you'll become a driver of innovative solutions and have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: assisting with your topic from its conceptual development, to design to implementation, while at the same time doing your part to build up one of the most cutting-edge fields in the history of rail transport. There has never been a time more exciting to join than right now, because we are combining a large-scale, historically unprecedented project having the spirit of a startup with your expertise and the strongest experts from various disciplines.
In the context of Digital Rail, you will mastermind the IT architecture and IT solutions for real-time systems in rail transportation (such as monitoring and control).
You create innovative concepts for an integrated technical architecture of a system with numerous internal and external interfaces. You tackle highest requirements as to latency, reliability, operational safety and IT security.
You design data pipelines, integrating various sources (e.g. sensor data, localization and motion data, video streams) to feed operational and analytical systems.
You create a technology roadmap by evaluating application services, libraries, data base environments and server landscapes in regard of the system requirements.
On the way towards testing, piloting, and implementation, you manage complex sub-projects and coordinate cooperation with DB-internal and external partners.
You have several years of professional experience in architecture and implementation of real-time capable data processing systems. This includes system specification (definition of requirements, architectures, APIs etc.) as well as execution and implementation (e.g. real-time operating systems, hardware accelerators, cyber-security etc.).
You are familiar with relational and non-relational data bases as well as big data platforms.
You have successfully completed a Master's degree (or higher) in computer science, engineering or a comparable field of studies.
Ideally, you have worked in the automotive and/or rail sector, and you closely monitor the latest trends in mobility.
You have led development teams and are a skilled manager of partners and stakeholders.
You are interested in bringing change to the rail system and enjoy new challenges. Your profound technical understanding is combined with a responsible, intrinsically driven attitude towards work.
If you have excellent English skills and a good command of the German language, you've come to the right place!
What we offer:
Take advantage of your opportunity now, and apply your experience in designing a historically one-of-a-kind project from the very ground up: the digitalization of German rail transport.
Join us, and you'll have the chance to cooperate with leading industry players in a project team of top experts, where you can leave your mark on one of the most technologically riveting fields. You will be working in a startup atmosphere the whole time, but will still continue to enjoy all of the advantages of a major corporation. You'll also have a robust package of fringe benefits, such as job tickets, free travel (including for family members) and a model with different working time options offering up to 34 days of vacation.
