The Centre of Competence for Telematics is responsible for the implementation and operation of solutions that extend the classical DFS product portfolio with connected car data / telematics. Exemplary products are dynamic leasing products depending on your driving behavior, usage based insurance products, etc. In addition, we support the Daimler CASE program by implementing new solutions for new DFS products like Microleasing, mobility packages, etc. As IT we are closely working together collocated with our colleagues from different business units (such as sales & marketing, credit, insurance). We own the solutions that we are creating end to end - from the first ideas of the product over defining the software architecture, the implementation to operating the final solution in production. We are open minded, technology-loving and willing to finish, what we started. In the team, we work with forefront software solutions, based on microservices, containerization, cloud, API gateways, web and mobile applications. We use a variety of open source solutions, like Kubernetes, Docker, Apigee, KeyCloack, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus - supported by our advanced continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline consisting of JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitLab, SonarQube and a self-developed Kubernetes deployment manager called Kubert.. Your tasks as a software architect will be

Create the software architectures of our different solutions and bring the architectures to life

Support the solution owner / IT product owner during the ideation of the new products by outlining the software architecture

Evaluate the non-functional requirements and suggest approaches for the software architecture

Propose the software architecture together with the solution owner and evaluate advantages / disadvantages of the chosen architecture

Reuse patterns within our solution portfolio and define optimizations to our solution portfolio

Support the solution owner until the go-live of the applications and beyond with regards to architectural questions

Provide best practices, patterns, inhouse-developed images, etc. to the department and other teams in the department

Professional qualification:

Successfully completed degree in computer science, software engineering, media informatics or equivalent qualification

A minimum of 4 years of experience in software architectures and architectural styles

Expertise in object oriented design and design patterns, expertise in meet architectural objectives and requirements

Expertise in containers on Docker / container management on Kubernetes / microservices / API management

Knowledge about open source solutions / libraries like Spring Boot, KeyCloack, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, MQTT, etc

Knowledge on concepts like OAuth, SAML, X.509

Knowledge about contemporary modeling languages like UML, BPMN, SysML, Archimate

Excellent written and spoken English and German skills are required

Strong communication and presentation skills

Passionate about constantly learning new technologies and improving your skills, by e.g. participating in conferences, listening to podcasts, etc.
