Position description

 

Aurora Europe GmbH is looking for a

Senior Infrastructure Architect Europe (m/f/x)

to join our Information Services team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. This full-time position is based in Berlin and reports to the Director Information Services EU.

 

Duties

 The key responsibilities of the Senior Infrastructure Architect (Europe) will be:


Utilize a variety of partners to assist with the design and architecture of infrastructure and applications

Contribute to the overall IS strategy as required   

Assist with troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical related problems

Analyze existing systems to ensure they offer adequate security and are effectively meeting the needs of the organisation

Coordinate with all areas of the organisation to see that systems are working as optimally as it should

Analyse business requirements to identify where new hardware, operating systems or connectivity solutions can be integrated

Recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance information systems to support organisational goals. Recommendations are presented clearly and understandably to senior management

Lead the design and review processes for new systems. Develop and document the proposed technical design for the integration and implementation of any new software, working across the IT department.

Create detailed plans for the integration of new systems architecture into existing infrastructure. This includes logistical plans and providing technical direction and support for the operational areas during the integration.

Evaluate the success of projects, identifying best practices and lessons learned. Provide feedback to leadership team and incorporate this information into future plans


Qualifications


15+ years of experience in the IT industry

10+ years in an architecture role working on large enterprise solutions

Experience in designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure solutions

Experience in working with Microsoft Windows servers, active directory, Windows 10, Azure, Skype for Business and Office 365 suite in large enterprises

Experience administering mobile device management (MDM) software in large enterprises

Experience in the design and deployment of private and hybrid clouds in large enterprises

Strong design and documentation experience

Excellent English communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

Experience with cloud and on-premise technologies and building enterprise architecture roadmaps

Knowledge of client-server networking and database management

Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues

Experience in planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices

Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies

Proven ability to work across IS and Business teams working in multiple locations

Experience with projects involving multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced, innovation driven environment

Knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry would be considered an asset 

Experience with designing solutions for overseas locations would be considered and asset

Linux experience is a benefit

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders and vendors

Ability to design and architect scalable enterprise class technology  

Ability to quickly adapt, maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements

Excellent English communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects

Ability to establish and manage relationships between IT and other business units

Ability to work with limited supervision

Ability to work with business units and drive out requirements, and the technical solutions required to deliver business value  

Ability to maintain partnership with external vendors to increase value to internal business groups 

Ability to provide a high-level customer satisfaction

Microsoft certifications are considered an asset

TOGAF, CITA or SAO architecture certification is preferred but not required

Fluent German is considered an asset
