BMW Car IT GmbH Munich is offering you a challenging position as a Software Developer (f/m) for communications middleware technologies. As a subsidiary of the BMW Group, we design and develop innovative software solutions for future BMW mobility services in collaboration with other BMW departments.

A big challenge in the automotive industry is the conception and implementation of intelligent and highly connected mobility services. As part of an agile development team you will design and implement communications middleware solutions as a basis for such intelligent mobility services.

The communication framework joynr, which is developed as open source software at BMW Car IT, serves as the underlying basis of said services. Our framework supports multiple programming languages (C++ / Java / JavaScript) also makes use of existing open source components, to which we also make contributions.

Qualifications:


A degree in Computer Science or a similar field of study.

Competence in software engineering, particularly agile methods, object-oriented design and programming as well as software quality.

You know Java / Java Enterprise Edition or C++ very well and and you can convince our developers that you’ve got hands-on skills.

Experience with JavaScript / Node.js is beneficial.

Expert level skills in scalability of distributed systems and familiarity with distributed caching frameworks.

Knowledge of distributed systems, network technologies and middleware technologies.

Confidence in using Git and familiarity with code review processes.

Experience in working with open source software (OSS) is beneficial.

Business-fluent in English. The ability to read and speak German is an advantage.

Good communication skills.
