The department ONE Information Technology at our Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany is looking for a Python Developer / Data Scientist (f/m) to support our ONE IT New Technologies & Services department. As a Python Developer in our Data Science Team you work with our Data Scientists and Infrastructure Experts to turn ideas into productive services. You aim for end-to-end solutions and establish best practices in software development to help the team become more efficient. At the same time, you learn about Data Science and gradually become a subject matter expert while you educate your colleagues on code quality, CI and CD in turn.

Develop, test and ship data-driven products and services

Establish best practices for code quality, testing and deployment

Conduct advanced data analysis together with the data scientists

Bachelor degree in mathematics, statistics or computer science or in a related field; Master degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience

Strong programming skills in Python, preferably experience with various data-processing/ML libraries (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn)

Passion for high code quality, test-driven design and high automation in testing and deployment

Experience with packaging and deployment in the python ecosystem

Experience with containers (docker, kubernetes) and cloud services is a plus

Basic knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms

Knowing and embracing agile methodologies (SCRUM) is a plus

High level of communication and acceptance of colleagues and stakeholders in different areas and hierarchies

Very good English language skills; knowledge in German would be an advantage
