Platform Operations Engineer (m/f)

Your job

You will play a crucial role in setting up our new revolutionary online platform and actively contribute to the success of this new venture at ZEISS. In this challenging function you will be responsible to provide support for the platform users that include developers. You will ensure that the customer questions are promptly addressed by responding in a timely and accurate manner. You will handle 2nd level support questions and escalate advanced questions to appropriate personnel within the team and also within ZEISS organization. You will communicate with users via email, phone and online forum. You are expected to work with the product owner in setting up a scalable process as the platform grows. Take responsibility for building a revolutionary online platform and shape the future of ZEISS Microscopy!

Our requirements

A university degree in computer sciences, informatics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience with software containerization especially Docker

Very broad experience with several modern programming languages (C#, Java, C++, C, Python) and respective programming frameworks

Ability to easily grasp software dependencies of customer software and be able to communicate and guide containerization

Strong knowledge of software versioning concepts and strategies for software packaging and distribution (git, Gitlab, package managers)

Willingness to travel (< 20%)

Fluent English and German
