Provide technical leadership to backend/middleware development at E.ON focusing on smart home products. We’re looking for someone who loves to code and will take ownership over architecture, code conventions, and related processes.

Lead a team of more junior developers -- potentially on-site, at agencies, or near/off-shore depending on the project.

Integration of Data Storage solutions (databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.,)

You know the tools, you know the architecture and you love building great APIs. Other developers are your users.

Ensure performance, responsiveness, stability, security, and extendability.

Help build an ecosystem of smart home products and features.

Collaborate with a team to define, design, and deploy new features.

Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.

Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.

Conduct and participate in peer code reviews.

B.S or M.S. in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

several years experience in Full-Stack development

A solid understanding in developing and managing APIs.

Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform

Frontend: JavaScript, HTML/CSS

Backend: Node.js (must), Java, Kotlin

Web Services and APIs: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML

Platforms: Android/Android Things, Google Cloud Platform


Agile and SCRUM methodologies

Unit tests

Test automation

CI/CD pipelines (preferably with Gitlab)

Working fluency in English required. German optional

Understanding of IoT and Smart Home is desirable
