We are looking for a passionate Lead Software Engineer with a pioneering spirit. You will be part of an agile team that is working on the technical foundation and continuous improvement of the MBUX Voice Assistant. You will be helping to drive the project forward and taking ownership of the technical direction the team chooses. Helping to create structure and an outline with a clear horizon to work towards.



You have experience in building, recruiting and managing engineering teams.

You design and implement high-quality backend architectures for processing and acting upon voice input on top of a Cloud infrastructure

You implement, integrate, test and deploy the software, following DevOps principles

You coordinate and integrate your work with the work of internal and external development partners worldwide

You carry out projects as part of an interdisciplinary agile team of software engineers and voice UX designers

You assist product managers with the development of the product roadmap and assess the potential and feasibility of requested product functions.

You continuously enhance and seek out methods and tools and actively acquire new knowledge, e.g., by attending meetups and conferences


Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a comparable qualification

2-6 years of software engineering and experience as a backend developer, e.g., developing frameworks and integration into existing backend systems 

Previous experience in Speech / Voice technology is a plus, but not mandatory

Knowledge of Java frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate and Java build tools such as Gradle, Maven, or Ant

Familiarity with CI tools and test automation (e.g. Jenkins, Travis, Nexus, SonarQube, Selenium, etc.)

Familiarity with logging and monitoring frameworks and infrastructures

Git knowledge

Practical experience in agile software development and the associated development methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, etc.) is beneficial

Proficient English; German is a plus

Communication and team skills, as well as an independent, structured, and target-oriented approach to work
