Within the Isilon Business Unit at Dell, we are looking for a Field CTO for Automotive / Manufacturing Industry to join our team This field based CTO role within the Unstructured Storage division of DellEMC is a high impact position with responsibilities including: supporting strategic sales opportunities with account teams, closely following industry trends and direction to shape engineering and product priorities, and regularly evangelizing both Isilon and ECS solutions and roadmaps as one of our thought leading technical experts with customers, at industry conferences, tradeshows, and with industry press and analysts. It is a unique role for the well-rounded and dynamic technologist at heart with a functional NAS storage background who possesses deep industry knowledge in areas including Automotive, Manufacturing, High Performance Data Analytics (HPDA), w/ use cases like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance) and/or Smart Factories, and has a passion for evangelizing. Our high performing Field CTO team is comprised of Engineers and Technologists who take tremendous pride in maintaining technical depth and breadth in their areas of expertise and in playing a highly influential role with our customers, our internal product and solution teams, and the industry at large. The role requires dynamic and engaging communications and presentation skills; verbal, written and visual. The successful candidate is someone able to engage and influence a varied audience, from C-level to managerial as well as internal product and engineering teams, and extract information that can be used by the sales team in future engagements. The role covers the whole of our EMEA territory and occasional travel outside of EMEA (i.e. international) may be required. Key Responsibilities:- STEM/Engineering Degree (Bachelor’s minimum; graduate work preferred) A minimum of 10 years relevant IT Automotive and/or Manufacturing experience Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the Automotive & Manufacturing industries with preference for experience with connected car & smart factory initiatives or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Understanding of storage architectures (preferably NAS) and their impact to Automotive, Manufacturing, and HPDA workloads as an end user or in technical vendor role strongly preferred Understanding of trends, tools, and techniques specific to the Automotive industry like ISO 26262, IEEE2020, or V2V/V2X and/or Manufacturing industry like MQTT, MTConnect, and ISA TR88. Understanding of HPDA workloads like Streaming Analytics (Kafka, NiFi, Spark, Storm, MQTT, etc.) and/or Deep Learning (Tensorflow, Theano, Caffe2, etc.). Desires Skills:- Ability to interact with engineers, HPDA administrators, data analysts & data scientists, and IT executives in the Automotive & Manufacturing industry. Experience in a client-facing role discussing strategic and tactical concepts to internal / external customers required Familiar with design concepts for scale-out and distributing computing architectures desired and the impact for the Automotive & Manufacturing industry Familiar with design concepts for scale-out and distributing computing architectures desired and the impact for HPDA and Connected Devices.
