DevOps Engineer for Mobility Services & Servitization (m/f/diverse)

Continental is pushing hard for new business models, especially in the area of mobility services and servitization. Mobility Services are Digital Services provided by Continental to external customers (e.g. Remote Vehicle Data, Smart City Solutions or Key-as-a-Service).

To support the entire lifecycle of these new mobility services and servitization solutions, Continental has developed the Continental.cloud.

The major responsibilities in this role include continuous DevOps engineering activities for defined mobility services and servitization solutions hosted on the Continental.cloud in very close cooperation with the R&D development teams and the Continental.cloud team.

In detail your tasks include:


Self-sufficient and independent development of scalable architectures (serverless or containerized) for complex production serving systems in AWS and or Azure

Ensure support of R&D teams in the development of cloud based solutions (micro-services) to ensure highly scalable, reliable, and secure services

Design and implement continuous release processes, workflows, and live deployments.

Ensure automation of deployment and lifecycle management of cloud based infrastructure with tools like terraform

Responsible and accountable for service specific operation activities

Continuously improve application and system monitoring, log analysis, and metrics

Continuously evaluate new tools in order to detect and rapidly respond to incidents and issues

Consulting of business R&D teams to enable them to get most value add from cloud solutions



Academic degree or vocational training in Software Engineering, Information Technology or comparable

Experience in both software engineering and cloud-based ops - having previously been in a DevOps, Full Stack Developer or Operations Engineer role (m/f/diverse)

Experience with cloud operation tools

Experience with AWS services and platforms such as EC2, ELB, EBS, RDS, S3, IAM, Route53, Elastic Beanstalk or Azure equivalents

Experience with container orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes)

Database management experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB)

Experience in Linux, Python, JavaScript, Node or Java

Debugging and command-line skills

Knowledge in Information Security & Service Management

Experience with Continuous Integration and automated test and deployment tools such as Jenkins and Concourse

Fluent English language skills (spoken and written)

Passion for automation, performance, visibility, and using the best tools possible

Passion for new technologies and eagerness to implement leading edge technologies
