Who is Klarna:
Klarna is one of the world’s fastest growing and most exciting financial technology (FinTech) companies, but you may not have heard of us (yet) so here’s some stuff you should know about us:
‘Unicorns’ are rare – and we’re one of them (Unicorns are tech start-ups valued at over $1Bn)
We’re often described as ‘the Swedish PayPal’, but we think we’re much more than that. Here at Klarna we’re striving to become the world's favourite way to buy. It’s a bold objective, but we’re well on course to achieving it.
We are one of Europe’s fastest growing companies, already operating in 18 markets and we plan to keep on growing. We serve 60 million consumers, work with more than 70 000 merchants and processed nearly $20Bn in payments in the last year.
We’re listed 8th on the CNBC most ‘disruptive companies in the world’ list for 2016, alongside Uber, AirBnB and coming above companies like Snapchat and Spotify - we’re really starting to change the global world of payments.
Despite our rapid growth and high levels of ambition (and unlike many other fast growth, disruptive companies) we are already a profitable company and have been right from the start.
We have some pretty heavy-weight investors including Visa, Sequoia Capital (one of the early stage investors in Apple, Google, Oracle, PayPal, YouTube, Instagram and Whatsapp), Permira and Anders Povlsen (owner of BestSellerand biggest shareholder in ASOS).
We’re all really excited to be part of such a high potential company and would recommend any candidates spend some time researching who we are and what we do.
