We are looking for a number of experienced Java Development Team Leads on our growing Digital Enterprise Integration (Middleware) Team, located in Dublin Airport. Reporting to the DEI Development Manager, you will have responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the middleware development initiatives which are the foundation for many Aer Lingus projects and ambitions. You will help build out the vision of the organisations integration strategy and deliver this vision through the implementation of an Enterprise Service Bus in addition to managing and leading the development of solutions within the digital enterprise integration team.

Your role:


Managing day to day activities of the on and offshore development team, sizing development modules, estimating and allocating work to team members and reviewing deliverables

Designing and specification of enterprise integration applications and services

Understanding of current and emergent software technologies e.g. SOA, Messaging, NoSQL Databases (MongoDB), Application Servers and ESB

Mentoring other team members in the implementation of SOA and other development techniques

Offering support to other team members with a willingness to perform defect analysis and resolution where required


Your qualifications/ criteria:


Minimum of 10 years Java experience

Previous experience as a technical lead in a large scale software development project

Java technologies including Spring Frameworks

Application Servers (JBoss an advantage)

Awareness of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and similar design techniques

Experience of Web Services

Continuous build/integration (Jenkins, Maven, Git)

Strong communications skills, both documentary and verbal, from deep technical through to business presentations at executive level

Ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Eligible to live and work in the EU

Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport

Provide 3 verifiable references

Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year back ground check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in

Possess and be able to demonstrate the key competencies and skills outlined below


*If you are a non Irish Citizen, you will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside the Republic of Ireland for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries

Desirable Skills:


Professional IT qualification  and/or proven  working experience with software development

Experience of Messaging in particular experience using ESB technologies and/or IBM products

Knowledge of API Management, Service registry, Service Discovery an advantage      

Good knowledge of airline business processes
